How To Start A Blog From Your Bedroom In 30 Minutes Or Less

bloggingStarting a blog can be one of the most rewarding things you can do. If you do it right, then you will be able to make money from it and travel the world, without having to worry about a full time job or an over eccentric boss.

However there are some scary facts when it comes to blogging, one of them being that most people give up with the first 30 days of starting one and don’t follow through.

In fact a recent study showed that 89% of new blogs fail in the first month. Crazy right?

What this means is that if you just work a little bit harder, you can create a blog that will supplement your lifestyle from the comfort of your own home, wouldn’t that be awesome?

Ok, so if you said yes, then I’m about to share with you a simple plan for creating a blog within the next 30 minutes, without ANY technical know how.

Ready? Let’s get moving…

1. Find a host

Web hosting doesn’t need to be hard, it’s a very easy thing these days. All you need to do is find a reliable host (like Bluehost, Hostgator or Site 5) sign up for a shared hosting plan which is the cheapest. You can pay for a whole year in full or monthly. If you pay in full, you’ll usually get 10%-20% off which is cool.

2. Install WordPress

WordPress is the most popular and reliable blogging CMS (content management software) online. There are tons of free plugins and an amazing support forum, with thousands of experts worldwide ready to help you at a moments notice. Your hosting plan, will have a simple 1-click install process set up.

3. Buy a theme

Once you have WordPress installed, you will need to buy a good theme. Sure you can get a free one, but they look bad and make your blog look cheap. I recommend you use something like WooThemes or Theme Forrest, which offer high quality premium themes for less than $30.

4. Create your first post

With your theme in place, you’re ready to start posting. You should take a few minutes to create a contact page, about page and terms page. Once they are done, then you can begin posting. To do this, simply create a new post from within WordPress admin and start typing. Once you’re done, add some images, link out to a few websites and hit publish… you’re all done!

5. Start self promoting

With your blog live and your first post up, you want to start getting traffic. Share your new post with your friends on Facebook, Twitter and email. Also make sure you create a Twitter, FaceBook and Google + account which will be used to promote the blog in future.

Conclusion: If you’re serious about creating a better life for yourself, then you should learn everything you can about starting a blog. The best way to do it is by following a course like this one.
